In 2007 I teamed up with Phil Morrison and Global Boat Works who designed and then built a new class of Solo Ocean rowing boat.

Within a year my boat was complete and I was on La Gomera in the Canaries Islands preparing for the Atlantic crossing. It had been a busy year with sponsorship and media work along with the preparation needed to obtain all the supplies and equipment.

I set off on January the 11th 2008 and finally rowed into to Carlisle Bay, Barbados on April 2nd after 83 days at sea; some three stone lighter than when I departed.

I have written a book of the adventure titled. "Solo" a thousand miles from anywhere
There is also a 45 minute documentary DVD available covering the footage of the actual row.
